Registering for a Conference

This guide covers how to register as an attendee for a Confychair conference — from finding the register button to completing payment or waiting for approval.


Before You Begin

  • You need a Confychair account. If you don't have one, click Register for Conference and you'll be redirected to sign up first.
  • Registration must be open. If the organizer has closed it or the deadline has passed, you'll see a "Registration is closed" message instead of the button.

Registration Status Overview

Your registration card on the conference page shows one of six states:

Step-by-Step: Registering

Step 1 — Click "Register for Conference"

On the conference public page, find the registration card on the right side (or below the conference info on mobile). Click Register for Conference.

If you're not logged in, you'll be redirected to the login page and brought back here after signing in.


Step 2 — Select a Package (if applicable)

If the conference has registration packages, you'll see them listed here with their prices, descriptions, and any early bird deadlines.

  • Free packages show "Free"
  • Paid packages show the price in the conference currency
  • Presenter packages are for paper authors; Attendee packages are for general participants
  • A package marked "Requires Approval" means the organizer will review your registration before it's confirmed
Select the package that fits your role and click Continue.

Step 3 — Fill in Your Details

Fill in your personal information. Your email is pre-filled from your account and cannot be changed here.

Required fields:

  • First Name and Last Name
  • Country
  • Phone Number
  • Affiliation — your institution, university, or company

Optional fields: Salutation (Dr., Prof., etc.) and Suffix.

If you check Save to my account, this information will update your Confychair profile.

Step 4 — Additional Information (if required)

Some conferences collect extra information — dietary requirements, presentation topics, file uploads, or other custom questions. Fill in all required fields before continuing.

For file uploads, your file is uploaded securely and attached to your registration record.


Step 5 — Agree to Terms

Read the conference terms and conditions (click to expand if shown). Check I agree to the terms and conditions and click Submit Registration.

After Submitting

What happens next depends on the package you selected:

Free package, no approval required

Your registration is confirmed immediately. You'll be redirected to the conference dashboard.

You'll be redirected to an invoice page to complete payment via the available payment methods. Your registration becomes active after payment is confirmed.

Package requires approval

Your registration status changes to Pending Approval. The conference page will show an amber card with a clock icon. You'll receive an email and notification when the organizer reviews your registration.

If Your Registration is Rejected

If the organizer rejects your registration, you'll see a red card with any notes they left explaining the reason.

If registration is still open, you can click Apply Again to submit a new registration — your details will be pre-filled.

Accessing the Conference After Registration

Once your registration is active, the registration card changes to show a green Registered badge and a Go to Dashboard button. The dashboard gives you access to the program, your submissions (if any), and any conference materials the organizer has shared.
